Join Our TweetChat tomorrow and help us end Willful Defiance in California!

This week, we continue our campaign to end suspensions due to Willful Defiance in California. We invite you to participate in a TweetChat tomorrow with members of various communities who are working to curb suspensions and expulsions and pass Assembly Bill 420, which will make it illegal to suspend a child for the catch-all “willful defiance.”

If you’ve never participated in a Tweet Chat, don’t worry, it’s very simple and fun!

A Twitter chat is an online dialogue between individuals, organizations, and individuals representing organizations around a particular topic. Usually an hour long, questions can be posed to featured participants but are open for anyone to answer. Twitter is a public platform, and the more people sharing their thoughts the better!

How do I participate in a Twitter Chat?

Twitter chats work best when you have a Twitter account. If you don’t have one, sign up – it’s fun! You will need to make sure you follow @AllianceforBMOC on Twitter so that you can see when the chat is starting, and what questions will be asked.

Questions will be posted in the following sequence: Q1, Q2, Q3, etc. In your response, you want to be sure to start off with A1, A2, A3, etc. so people will know which questions you are answering.

The most important thing to remember in a Twitter chat is to include the designated hashtag in your message. This can get tricky, because you only have 140 characters to use but we know you’re creative! The hashtags for our willful defiance Twitter chat are #SolutionsNotSuspensions & #CABMoC .
